Talk Audio – The World’s Largest Car Audio Community
I have some really cool news that’s a bit diagonal. We all know that before long all platforms will all use all formats. So whether you are in your car, at home or on the train, you will always have access to e-mails and internet and telephony. Clarion Mind is pointing the way there. Now, one of the latest categories of truly mobile electronics to be ravishing a whole industry (half of the bricks and mortar are up for sale right now) is the E-book. Even at this emergent stage the sales of books are going virtual. Indeed, when Sony withdrew the Nav-U from active promotion and Talk Audio looked to reviewing some other Sony kit instead like the fabulous MEX-DV1000 SACD deck and Sony’s PRS-505 Reader itself, I was particularly gripped as the son of an author with over 90 titles published down the years. I did a video too.
There are only three significant electronic book publishers world wide. Two are American and one is Manx. Through my contacts on the island (gosh that sounds so grand!) I have recently organised the meeting of a certain agent and this publisher and I am proud as punch to be able to tell you that so far, 45 of Claire Rayner’s books are going to be republished in a format that’ll take her work into the future. It’s the first time my career in technology has dovetailed with my Wrinklies’! It was lovely to see my Dad back in business mode (he’s an octogenarian and still sharp as a tack!) and to hear about new readers’ reactions! (Claire’s fiction tends to be more a girlie than blokey read.) One day you will be buying the latest releases at a WH Smiths shop by WiFi at the airport on the way to your hols. Who knows, by then it may also have GPS and a fine camera as a ‘holiday model’ with navigation built in….
I just recently had a go on a dream product – the Bazooka BT1220 – an actual TWELVE inch Bazooka Tube. Unlike many other brands, this one is aptly named as all of the genuine Bazzy tubes are just mad. I have wailed about wanting a twelve for years and I couldn’t have been alone! Review up soon on that one. I have also been trundling around with a the new Clarion MAP790 PND but that’s something that the more miles you put in the better, so it’ll be a week or so before that one’s up.
Meanwhile, it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in the Shops and online alike, so it’ll soon be time to break out the LED 12V lights I had designed for me by Tim Reeves after asking for a circuit design on the forum – I admit I am a fan of his. And this will be year two for them. (The Ron Imports 12V tree is in its twelfth or more year – I honestly have lost count. It was really a 24V truck design so 12V has seen it barely worn!)
Think of 12V kit for your loved ones for Christmas. I know a few who just want a Warhorse.
