TalkAudio – Where The Delicate Ring Of A Triangle Meets 170dB

After an age of pre-development and planning and subsequent recruiting of sponsors Fusion and Morel, the newest part of Talk Audio magazine is up and running. Son Of BoomZilla. Originally a single-page strip in the specialist press and seen once or twice in Fast Car, it is back with a classic ‘Origins’ story where we see BoomZilla himself. But this time around it will be about his lad and what it’s like to be a second generation oddity. Cannot imagine what you’ll be drawing upon to write that stuff….Guru
It’s just below – do clicky!
I have details of the new Clarion kit this week as well. Plus Clarion have a HUGE story ready to hit the UK as a sexy CES launch becomes a European reality. I’m talking about Clarion Mind. It combines a navigation device with a streamed net-display system that turns your net enabled phone or other device into a wireless portal driving a bigger screen than pretty much anything else outside of an actual notebook.
And it’s touch screen.
It made my nipples hurt with excitement when I saw it and I confess that while my photography took ages, it was all utter rubbish due to my lack of any talent and despite the clever Canon prosumer camera. I’ll letcha know more about it in due course and will get the new stuff on here ASAP.
One really epic thing happened last week. One manufacturer, JBL (Stands for James Bullough Lansing by the way – same ‘Lansing’ as in Altec-Lansing in fact – http://www.audioheritage.org/intro.htm ) and one range in particular – their GTO stuff – has just garnered something we shall call the Talk Audio Triple Whammy of review honours.
A Recommended  (GTO1241BR ported box of great might)
A Best Buy (GTO1241BP bandpass box of deep cunning and stupefying output)
A State Of The Art (GTO24001 Monoblock amp of smallish size yet prodigious output for low cost)
The GTO24001 bass amp is a perfect combo of insane raw real power, with delivery into real impedances and yet ridiculously affordable. In a world where a quid a watt is good, how about 33 pence each? Two Thousand Four Hundred thirty three pences.
It only sank in as I finished the third review and added up everybody’s points. Recommendeds are not rare but do take some earning. Best Buys are also not unattainable but SOTAs are still rare as hen’s teeth, so well done JBL for a stonking line of kit!
I’ll go get on then……
