The Italian Job Part 2 – Blighty Bound!
We had to make this a two-parter as thejoose has made so many video files….and you can only put ten in a TA post, or article, alike. So welcome back to part two of the account of a trip to Italy to come back as a Bassrace hero couple!
After that I was up against another Greek car. This one running four Kicker L7 subs! This was the Euro finals
Watch the video closely – you can see the screen turning red at the very last second.

I managed to find someone else’s video of the run and you can see the score on the judges screen. So close
As I had still qualified in the top two, I was still in for the world finals. We did a lot of waiting for the Americans to get ready and it was a late night. I was a little stressed at this point, as it was the culmination of two whole years’ work to get here. Everything had led up to this moment

And here is my finals run. I was seriously nervous and didn’t want to bust out, as that gets you no ranking in the world at all. I should have pushed a little bit harder but second in the world, to last year’s world champion isn’t so bad!

As is always the way with the world finals, we ended up sticking around until very, very late in the day. The trophies this year were huge which made the cheeky winners’ kiss-and-lift-aloft a little difficult!

We had an absolutely blinding time. Meeting some new friends and catching up with some old ones. Anyone with an interest in car audio should try and attend one of these events, as you get a real taste of what’s going on all over Europe. It was a shame that more of Team UK couldn’t attend this year but with it being so much further away than finals in previous years, it was understandable.
Yet the support PBB got from everyone on Talk Audio back home was fantastic, with people keeping a check on my Twitter feed and Facebook status and updating the threads with the latest scores and information.
I should like to offer a huge thank you to the guys at Ground Zero for their help with the trip, which made it all possible. Also to Mike Edwards and the guys at Kenwood UK for their loan of the SatNav module, too. And thank you to all the people who have followed Project Big Black. It’s been a mental year for Lou and myself. We will soon be celebrating our first year of competing with Project BigBlack at the Modified Nationals show (as well as it being Darren ‘˜Loudboy’Millard’s 100th dB Drag show.) If anyone wants to come down and get a demo, then PBB and I shall be there all weekend
