TravelPilot 300 For Less Stress On The Road

Blaupunkt’s new Personal Navigation Device is far cleverer than most – here’s what they want you to know about it…
In addition to high-speed route calculation and reliable route guidance, the new TravelPilot 300 by Blaupunkt is also equipped with a Bluetooth interface to accommodate mobile phone and entertainment functions.
The new TravelPilot 300 unit can be conveniently operated via a touch screen. Simply enter the post code along with the street and house number and the TravelPilot 300 will get you there. The new PND also has access to navigation data for more than 20 countries in Western Europe, plus data for 20 Eastern European countries which is available as an optional upload.
The integrated TMC receiver (Traffic Message Channel) and the integrated TMC antenna provide dynamic route recommendations to avoid traffic congestion on the route ahead in many of the mapped countries. In areas with good reception coverage, the external TMC antenna which is included with the unit isn’t even required. The lithium-ion battery in the TP 300 provides active navigation for up to five hours. In addition, the battery can be replaced by the user at any time.

Points of Interest customisable for a personal travel guide
The PC program included with the TravelPilot 300 makes it possible to compile personal Points of Interest (POIs) and store them on an SD card. This is done using GPS coordinates, which can be determined directly by the unit or found on different websites, such as Google Earth, for example.Portable navigation devices like the TP 300 by Blaupunkt also offer a variety of different driver assistance functions. These include, amongst others, an integrated light sensor to automatically switch the display from day to night illumination as required, visual and acoustic warnings when the legal speed limit is about to be exceeded, five different route options, and a warning of traffic congestion even when route guidance is not activated – a feature that commuters will find particularly useful.
The integrated Bluetooth interface makes it possible to use a mobile phone in the car, enabling not only hands-free speaking and listening but also direct call dialling. It is also able to play back MP3 music files via audio streaming.

Entertainment on the road
The TravelPilot 300 also features a number of different multimedia features for entertainment whilst on the road. This includes a voice recorder for short voice messages and a phrase book in 18 languages to quickly translate phrases in a variety of different subject areas. The device is also able to play back or load MP3/WMA music files and WMV video files from the internal memory or an SD card at any time. Digitally stored photos can be viewed on its 4.3-inch colour display and there are also five video games stored in the device – Sokoban, Solitaire, Sudoku, and two puzzles.
The TravelPilot 300 can be used in vehicles in any category. Its many features, trouble-free installation and easy operation provide for convenient navigation, easy telephone use via Bluetooth facility along with different playback options for audio and video files – make it a true plug and play unit.
The TravelPilot 300 will be available from end of April 2008, and can be purchased from Blaupunkt dealers at a suggested retail price of £249.99. To find out about your local or an online Blaupunkt dealer please visit www.blaupunkt.com .
