Week Forty- Nine HYBRID AUDIO BACK IN THE UK!

I hope you liked the Alpine video stuff, it is to be found on Talk Audio TV in due course as well as my Presenterbloke channel on YouTube right away. I got some really cool material that day and delivered some sweeties and wished all at Alpine a jolly cool Yule a bit early. The video subjects were ALL amazing. They impressed me. From Mike, to Keith, to Atsu, Mitch and Ashley all stars. Said Presenterbloke channel now has had 2.3million views! Which, compared to sneezing pandas is flip all but I am utterly thrilled to be a YouTube partner. (I was, even before the one video that has gone crazy and makes up for nearly a quarter of the total.)
Being a ‘˜Partner’ is when your videos get enough hits for the Google ads monetised upon your clips, to start making you a row of beans. Did you know that as well as getting a few pence for a click on an advert on your video, there are vultures? These ad agencies get in touch, promise you more traffic as they are cleverer than you and also will take 20% of your income. They reckon you will get more overall as they then use real people to sell the ads onto your content, rather than the automated allocation after companies buy into Google general advertising.
I said no.
Anyway, I am thinking also of investing in a camera steadying device for the Handycam. The auto wibble lens stabilising system on the Sony is amazing but the thing I went to look at in Elstree at a posh outfit that sells stuff to the film studios, was breathtakingly clever. So clever, it was deeply impractical for a self shooter like me. I kinda fancy the Steadicam Merlin2 system instead.
In the lead story this Advent Monday is the joyous tiding that Hybrid Audio are once again available in the UK. There is a new company, Hybrid Distribution UK, set up by audiophile and all round Good Egg, Richard Salmon. He has been known to the Hybrid Audio company in the USA for some time and the relationship has, well they have just gotten into bed together.
I understand that all products will be available and for those who know not of their stuff, here is the review of their ongoing UNITY speaker system. link I loved it and it got both a BEST BUY and a REFERENCE Talk Audio flag. Most impressive stuff. I have updated the price and website.
The set up is specialist and small. You will NOT see these in Halfords. You will be able to purchase at Studio InCar and Platinum InCar in the first place, both of which outfits are legends in their own lunchtimes and are top end installation houses. So much so, that while you may purchase Hybrids to take off to your own audio installation project, you will garner a full extra year of warranty from Hybrid Distribution UK, if you get them installed by the HDUK accredited dealers.
You can find their sweet and simple new website here: link and it has prices showing that are a clear tenner less than the previous outfit managed to sell them at. They do not sell direct. If you want to talk HAT to Mr. Salmon, though, then call 07899 415005. He is a long-served, sound quality sound off entrant, has a beautifully clear and delicious system in his own car which has a mantel shelf at home, literally groaning under the mass of trophies and incidentally, Richard is one of the nicest blokes in car audio. I wish him and Hybrid Audio Technologies in the UK, every success. Oh and for those that don’t know, the HAT stuff has been slapping wins in high end SQ sound offs for years all over the USA. They make some of the best there is. You can find them on Facebook as well.
The second really cool thing for Talk Audio and an absolute massive career compliment personally, is that the Consumer Electronics Association of America, who invited me to the CES in Las Vegas in January this year, as their guest, have done so again. I just turned out such a prodigious slice of work, (mostly out of a massive greed, of course) that they aimed that thunderbolt at me again and got me on the noggin. Once more shall I stay in the absurdly cool Excalibur hotel and fly with the airline that is still nice to fat men (as Virgin Atlantic staff HATE fat people and let you know) who are US Airways. From an airport convenient to ME, that also means the vile shit baggage handlers at Gatwick inbound will not be in the loop at all. I am excited as hell and worried sick.
I still haven’t told MeJulie.
