Week Seventeen FOMO, Woofers & ‘˜Tube

Hilariously, I got all sniffy when I saw Facebook gather up folks for the Talk Audio SQ meet at Chingford Golf course last Sunday morning. Oddly, I had got it blended in my foetid imagination as a sideshow to the European Mobile Multimedia UK Judges’ training and pre-season rev-up in Northamptonshire! I had a dose of FOMO, in any case, as I’d have enjoyed videoing a few of the installs. I really aughta have kept an eye on the Meets board on the forum. Just for the record, I may not be able to show up every time but do think of giving me a poke if you fancy coverageit’s always a risk of it being ‘˜yes.’
I had got up early through daft misplaced excitement on that Sunday last, to go to the Gadget Show Live, at the behest of Alpine’s Mitch Pirie and Ashley Booth. And although the mileage would have been a bit epic, I truly regret not going first to Chingford from Watford before doing the NEC thing. As it was, Alpine being mentioned and filmed and shown during the SuperTheatre live show, was the only representation of mobile electronics at the show. I confess I found that I had to kill time to reach the 4pm showtime. But do check out the resulting video. I think it is one of my better efforts.
I called EMMA’s Head Honchoness, Roo Ackerley, about the judges’ training. ‘It went absolutely fantastic. We had everybody there who needed to be there. The judges are enthused about the new season. It couldn’t have gone better. A big thanks to Christian And Horst for presenting the seminar and a shout out to Behind The Bus Stop restaurant, and Miss Roxy Buck, for putting on a fantastic breakfast and lunch for everybody! (Food matters, she provided enough to feed an army! Ed.) Behind the bus stop Looking forward to kicking off the season with a nice relaxed event at Car Audio & Security next weekend. It’s a fantastic car audio event. Always a cool show. Saturday will be chilled out, with plenty of staff on board to run demos and interact with the public. Saturday is a Getting The Band Back Together at the start of the season. Registration is still open, so go for it!’ Learn more here. EMMA
I think I am going to be setting up another Tuber channel for my outdoorsey stuff, so if you are into trees and fish and birds and furry things and flowers look out for Mounted&StuffedTV! I had a second invitation from Google to apply to take part in a YouTube ‘˜thing’ at a London Hotel on the 29th this month. I do so hope I get selected. They send out lots, I imagine, to qualifying ‘˜Tubers and I did not make it last time around. Keep your fingers crossed and if you fancy coming to meet the Fat Man, or trying out some awesome cars, then do show up at Pump Lane next weekend. The CAS phone number is 0208 561 9485, website page all about the mad prices is here: Car Audio Security
Lastly, I have a lovely woofer here to review for Home Cinema Choice, with copy due today, from a maker who enjoys my oft time delight at their product. It’s kinda nice to see your blither quoted, especially when one bloke last year assured me that ‘your word holds no sway..’ he was vexed with me at the time, mind
