Week Thirteen In Which I Have Swagged Out Much Goodness!

I have been given a little Golden Ticket to a land of FLAC (at LAAAAAST!!!! I hear a few of you holler) and have downloaded Peter Gabriel live in Athens, (very highly skilled digital working of original archive from analogue era) and the Planet Suite for a bit of Holst busting the woofers (Mars theme of course) and some clever string stuff with dudes on all sorts of mandolins as well as a Creole Choir to really test the SQ chops of this Kenwood I have here. As yet, it’ll eat only FLAC16 files although the stuff I have downloaded from the Bowers & Wilkins Society of Sound, is available also in FLAC 24. Mike Edwards from Kenwood also told me that they are looking at FLAC 32 for the next step-change on the headunits.
All of which adds up at LAST to a digital dawn rising upon the sound quality and production issues of orchestras and that bloke who recorded Frankie Goes To Hollywood. He used extra discs and classical deep-cutting techniques to make his EPs bloody cane it. To this day a bit ‘a Frankie seems to please the Eighties crew!
And as well as the Kenwood deck, I have a Parrot SMART Asteroid to write up and a budget boomer from a maker we have never tried a head unit from Caliber. I am going to try it, then fit it to a Ford StreetKa to get a long-term user report out of it.
Most of this morning has been spent packing and happily letting winners know that they have ‘˜swagged’ or won stuff on Talk Audio just for being there and saying ‘˜hello’ either here or on Facebook. I have addressed a pair of ANY day tickets for the upcoming popular Gadget Show Live (GOLD DUST) to one lucky soul courtesy of our lovely mates at Alpine Electronics and another pair of tickets, fixed for the first day of the show for another dude.
Also, I have packed up five of the wobbly-sticky silicone rubbery mats you plop on the dash and then put your phone on. It is so squidgy that it’ll take most ALL on one lateral ‘˜G’ to get things to shift off this. Then, there were three poly-cotton black polo shirts in a nice small knit, with JVC on the breast as well as a small RC car and a beach towel!
After a very slow start over the weekend, it has gone bonkers this morning and all is now swagged So, I can go and get at the head units.
Must get on.
