Week Thirty-Eight The Swag’s Late!

I do so enjoy the happy swag! Getting hold of stuff to give away is very nearly, to this over-indulged old git, as much fun as swagging stuff for one’s own use. Like the Audiofly AF78 earbud headphones I have here. I was always a bit sceptical of the Audeo ones I had also gripped some time back at Gadget Show Live, as I was simply not impressed by the sound. Jason from the Gadget Show had enthused about their microfilter systems, said to offer different EQ curves to the user and changed with a micro-tool but I was always a bit Emperor’s New Clothes and didn’t write about them. I felt that they were harsh without the filters and muffled with all of them. However, the fabric-sleeved cables Audiofly product is another beast. Go see audiofly to learn more about them. They have much bigger drivers and just sound lush. And by the way, I have been going to the high end HiFi show at that posh country house in recent years, to cop an earful of the most expensive headphones on the market as a pure ‘˜homework’ mission. About getting a reference point, so I know the AF78 are damn good. The recent trip to Gecko to hear around half a zillion quid’s worth of audio certainly messed with the heads of the audiophillic types who came along.
Anyway, the recent sound off meant I was able to give David Higgins and David Legg their lovely Pioneer leather attaché cases with the foam armoured laptop sections inside. David Higgins in particular was thrilled and explained how he was just about to go look for one as he was in need. As the only UK owner of a full Pioneer ODR system, right down to the amplifiers. Pioneer wanted him to have the gift.
And a little while back, I swagged some stuff from InCar Tec. That’s these clever people here: incartec all driven by the chap who devised Autoleads in the UK, as now sold by Halfords. I did identify four recipients for these swaggy items and even made a little video clip, waving their simple-yet-cunning nature at the lens. But I then didn’t get arse into gear to send them out packed up. Anyway, I shall garner those addresses and get them out this week.
Right, last sexy bit of news, we have Morel back on board as Site Associates, so expect some stuff from them soon. Massive backlog of tests.. Really need the between-shows space to get some kit played with. I have a Sony in my dash right now and another in the dash of a friend’s car to get at. with video, I reckon.
