Week Thirty-One In Which 1.4 Million Jeeps Are Recalled

Isn’t it funny, how a company can turn all attentive once you have wielded the vorpal blade of a well-honed ‘˜pen’ (er keyboard)? The Clifton Cameras people in Dursley, Gloucestershire, that I wrote about last week, did try to get back to me by phone and Facebook message but I really was done. I had told them they could call me and that I was no troll, supplying my numbers but in the event, I just couldn’t be bothered with ranting at them. I know they won’t give a damn in any real way, anyway. And the shop local to me, that specialises in telescopes for stargazing, looks awesome. I want to get a powerful spotting ‘˜scope that can also affix to my camera body, as that is definitely a thing Mind you, folks read the shitty reviews online first, don’t they? And Clifton Cameras are an awesome outfit with good staff or I wouldn’t have been so damn angry that a single rough ‘˜moddle’ could get them all (five staff, nil punters) in a lather so bad, they couldn’t even pick up the phone. And I know that you lot make me Google like a monster, so I will simply type ‘˜Clifton Cameras’ a second time.
Now, I will leave this column a little short, as I began to regale you, dear reader, with my tale of the big news story of our world right now, that you may not have known about. DAB hacking of our cars. But it got too big to fit on the sidebar. I have been posting long editorial columns lately and I know it upsets the OCD side of Guru’s soul, to see my column hanging off the bottom of the page in the sidebar like that. So it is getting its own slot in the news.
Our summer has done a wobbly, folks have the heating on and the Billionaire Boys are back in Knightsbridge in London and so upsetting the locals that huge swathes of new no-engine-revvy noise abatement regs are being drawn up. And then, they can fine them£100. Oh dear, like that’s going to work. Sigh.
It is Ultimate Street Car next weekend up the ‘Pod and the next round of the EMMA sound off scene, and the very next one after that, back at the very same Venue Of Legends that is Santa Pod, for our very own little tag-on to the August the 8th Run What Ya Brung weekend.
I hope to see you there.
