Week Thirty – Seven: In Which There’s An SPL Day At CAS In Hayes
Don’t you just love the keyboard warriors? I recently had one. With one uploaded video of his own and a few superior comments upon others’ vids on YouTube. They were all so lofty and supercilious in his certainty of higher intellect and yet was too dim to realise his comments were needing approval. They’ve gone, he’s blocked. I think it’s something to do with being an actual factual ‘˜Editor’.
After all, the internet has proved that ‘if you give ten million monkeys a typewriter, one will reproduce the works of Shakespeare’ is utter rubbish. Mind you, he had a point. It was the ‘˜Japspeed Scooby – Now Secured’ video. It was raining, I didn’t know the guys I was filming before we had to just do it, I should have moved the damn car and filmed from within the lobby.
But my internal baud rate runs at least thrice that of normal people (I found out at the Science Museum as a kid that my reactions are in the upper third for speed, too and mostly catch things I have dropped, on the way down, out of sheer laziness.) and as anyone who has ever met me knows. I tend to speak far too fast, let alone on camera.
And I’d had a cup of tea and am sensitive to bloody caffeine. Plus both guys were nervous as hell. So yes, it was everything he said. But I’m still proud to have started something with Road Angel and tracking and have resolved to make another video with Steve Biagioni when I can catch up with him. Incidentally, I gather he’s taking over the Pure Carma events at Arena Essex every first Saturday of the month the one where the ‘˜Propper Droppers’ have their bass contests.
Mercedes-Benz World was a blast last Friday I went to do a full-on item about the new Pioneer Mercedes Vito Dualiner 122mph ‘˜Project X’ van complete with what I estimate to be around 146-148dB capable bass install!
And lastly but by NO means leastly, do come along and check out the SPL contest at Car Audio & Security, Pump Lane, Hayes, this coming weekend, where the event is held in memory of Joe Ajji and proceeds donating to the local Sikh temple. Five classesThree are Boot Boomers, which is a ‘˜Single Sub’ class, a ‘˜Double Sub’ class and ‘˜Unlimited’. Then two in Extreme-Large Systems as in ‘˜Walled’ and ‘˜Non-Walled’. I’m compere as ever, which I just love to bits and can tell you guys some stuff about this nutter called Joe who we lost as sudden as an Earthquake just about a month ago.
I have Trax and more awaiting finishing, so as ever, I’d better get on.
