Week Thirty-Two – This Monday’s a bit poo
I really shouldn’t hadn’t aught’na whinge…. It’s just that I spent a lovely sunny day at Ultimate Street Car on Sunday and had organised for Iceman to get along there too. It was a nice day out as I hadn’t seen folks at shows for some time. One grizzled old git (Richie Warren, Fuel) even accused me of having been in a coma! And this morning with its heavy load of admin I need to do for year four of Talk Audio magazine, feels a bit Monday-ish. I should hang my head in shame, I could have a proper job….
The ‘Pod didn’t manage to organise a ‘Team Ice’ area for the lads but Ian did get given a lovely spot and did thieve the ‘Best Ice’ trophy in the Show & Shine contest held in front of the Fuel Girls’ fire and pain dance stage. So Ian wanted a big thanks offered to Rick and the Podsters. He’d also like to offer a 24 carat ‘Muh!’ to the AA for taking SEVEN hours to come rescue him after his brake pipe popped at the show.
One thing I managed to do at the show was ‘prove concept’ on a little idea I had to be called ‘Slathering Sweeties’ – the latter part of the name being conceived by Nikki Lee, who was a Fast Car magazine winning babe when I was there, is a dear chum and was well into it. It’s a way to get to shows and pay my passage by working for myself instead of finding a stage to take over.
Donning snappy blue rubber gloves (that’d be Nikki and possibly Elise simultaneously ..OMG!) and offering a slathering of factor fifteen to happy lads while they get videoed – and they get it sent by email download link on the internet equivalent of a plain brown wrapper direct to them afterwards! It is a bit like running an ice cream van for its weather dependency but could really work we reckon – especially with a couple of lippy mates of Nikki’s on board like Elise! (Who is a total hoot and bodacious babe-diva like Nikki!)
I’ve a lovely new review awaiting publication – a set of Pioneer ‘S’ or ‘superior’ coaxes from the TS-E series, that turned out to be better than many component systems and a couple of bits of news to regale you with. One of which is that I will be working at the link T2 show at the London Motor Museum in Hayes on the 29th August. Cool DJs and cool cars and gorgeous TS Hunnyz. Also, stop press is that I have just secured some swag from JBL for those who come along and take part. I will conceive something truly odd to do to win the swag but the aim is to entertain, which usually means humiliating, torturing and generally having beautiful women abuse the participants. Hell, it makes me laugh!
I’ll go get on, then.
