Week Twenty-Seven: In Which We Get Ready For ICE-T19.
It’s the most chilled-out show of the year and it is ours! Yes, we do have issues about the few vehicles that can do the elephant calling across the Savannah with subsonics thing, as last year we had Blade Ice’s mad Chevy Astro throbbing at over 160dB, even if it was hard work to listen to! But we are still having the EMMA sound off with its ESPL contest. We might just have to do it with the doors shut is all, as Environmental Health issues got raised by some near neighbours.

So yes, you are entirely welcome to sign up on the forum and check out the thread and simply show up at our field in Oxfordshire this coming Saturday. Named after the long-ago ‘˜T In The Park’ festival gigs, we figured that ICE-T was funnier and are up to our nineteenth, not always having had two in each of our ten years.
I have a few Fusion Aliens to give away and five desk sets for stationery, also Fusion branded and still have a couple of boxes of Dodo Juice car detailing swag. In sets of sixty-quid’s-worth, it’s a year’s supply of wax and some mega shampoo and a few other bits. They go in a free draw for three winners amongst the EMMA sound off entrants. The EMMA organisers are always keen for more folks to get involved in the format, so come and see the way the sound off works, without having to pay an entrance to a car show, as we are free! This is a very rare chance and it’s lovely to have EMMA on board as it is a first for us. We only ran boom contests before with dB Drag.
Folks tend to drift in and out for a few hours at a time and it’s got all we need (a Loo and the Legendary Burger Van) plus it’s amongst genteel Oxfordshire countryside with Red Kites wheeling overhead. What’s not to like?
I discovered that Blaupunkt are moving into regular Transistor radios and Bluetooth products and even headphones, so we’ll show you them in the news soon and of course will get back to the reviews coalface as soon as we can.
Last of all, if you are an Internet user, you cannot fail to be aware of the theft of the Japspeed drift car. I did something constructive, albeit after the event and tomorrow I am going to see Road Angel with the Japspeed guys and Road Angel are fitting the car in question with tracking at my behest for Japspeed! (That and swagging a Road Angel Vantage for myself, of course.) So keep checking in at Talk Audio for the latest in mobile electronics people and product news.
