Week Twenty-Seven John Kleis Event A Huge Success!
I have had a literally wonderful weekend. A Saturday spent wrestling with suburban cardio-vascular exercise with lawn and hedge and paths and mower, trimmer and cutter, then while aching like an old man, off and out early enough to get to Reading for first thing Sunday. The sound off was a huge success and I will pop a report up today if I can. I will definitely post the first ever FOUR girl hair trick video! It was Ashley Booth’s idea and I TOTALLY video bombed it, which was mean. But the big DSLR, superior microphone and even posher tripod in James Renshaw’s hands didn’t come with quite my level of directorial force! I beg forgiveness, credit the Booth and the Renshaw for making it happen and apologise for bombing. A bit, anyway.
Likewise, I have now had a listen to the Clarion XR 2420 four channel amplifier on the Kenwood seven inch components and have been impressed at the speed and quality of the sound. I will get that up as soon as, followed by a real epoch step change in amplifier design from Kenwood to review. As their new amp is so skinny it will go under seats for real as well as having the wider crossovers, with a switch to change the range of that crossover. This means the amp can be used as normal or as an active for a set of components. And that’s sexy!
I gotta get that speaker test done soon, as Chris Smith is itching badly between his shoulder blades to get these speakers into his car to compete with and is planning some serious builds to house them, to be made by the chaps at Highdown Car Audio.
Nice picture error in the Alpine review that Alpine didn’t spot but my aspie chum did! Cheers Gwynn, top bloke who saves my butt from time to time. I could have fixed, erased and pretended but that is not me.
The give-aways I was able to do at the show were simply awesome, I have video coverage of the biggest. But wanted to say a HUGE thank you to Pioneer for the lovely stuff and can reveal that I still have some truly superb Pioneer branded kit. I also want to thank Dodo Juice for the Super Natural wax packs, the first of which have been given away, with nine more to go see the show report. And lastly, a parcel has arrived from JVC and also from In-Car Tec, with some really cute stuff. I will see what can be revealed this week.
