Welcome SNG Audio
A warm welcome to Talk Audio magazine’s newest associate, SNG Audio. We have been sent one of their new woofers to try and will be slapping it into the Acoustic Wood test enclosure this week. As yet, it’s still sitting in its box awaiting unveiling. I’ll do the product blog video on it too so you can have a look before it gets reviewed.
The Bass Mekanik VLS-1 turns out to be a real state of the art beast of a bass processor and it made me get back in touch with an old mate, as I once made a segment of ITV’s Pulling Power in Miami with the man himself. It was called The Bass That Ate Miami. I will be sending him a much wanted aid parcel of Earl Grey and Sainsbury’s Red Label tea leaves. The really odd thing is, he didn’t know that US Amps had made the unit and despite a few discussions with US Amps, he didn’t actually have an arrangement, so this will be interesting to see pan out. It’d be insane to get stroppy about the unit’s existence as it’s brilliant. The Bass Mekanik is a nice guy so I hope there’s no grief.
I am a little behind with the news – as last week’s plea for a clone evidenced but will get at it again this next few days. One issue was my ‘losing’ a day to Home Cinema Choice magazine. I went to ‘review’ a set of Steinway & Sons Model D speakers>. Piano-grade built for £150,000 and just AWESOME! Amongst bits of music was a clip of Pink Floyd’s The Wall.
A lark sings, bombers drone and a little girl says, “look mummy, there’s an aeroplane up in the sky.” Shamelessly crafted to elicit an emotional response. I sat in the dem room and was literally moved to tears.
Most odd but wonderful. Buyers include Eddie Murphy and Mel Gibson. What a job!
